Cashel, County Tipperary
The Cashel Lodge is a stone building just a 10 minute walk from the bus stop, in the middle of a working farm and surrounded by open fields providing views of the Rock of Cashel and the nearby ruins of Hoare Abbey.

Doolin, County Clare
Aille River Hostel is beautiful. Skip Paddy’s Hostel down the road- I stayed there because I booked online but when I got there, I moved as soon as I could. Aille River Hostel is cozy, the staff is kind, friendly and helpful and everything is clean without feeling sterile (like Paddy’s…. yes, I hold a grudge…)

Westport, County Mayo
Abbeywood House is a quiet hostel on the outskirts of the tiny town. It used to be an abbey and is still relaxing with beautiful views of the nearby church (lit at night) and Croagh Patrick (the nearby mountain you MUST climb- pilgrims do it barefoot!!!)
Check out my post about my ascent up Croagh Patrick (I wore shoes).
